Chevrolet and GMC introduced the 2014 Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra at a pre-show media event in December but the pair of pickup trucks actually made their public auto show debut in at the North American International Auto Show. 
Both trucks now have a lighter, stiffer frame and cab along with wireless connectivity, three new engines, including two eight-cylinder engines and one six-cylinder engine. It also has a revamped interior and video screens.
The new trucks are the same size as the previous generation and will have 2 more inches of rear legroom without any decrease in front leg room. In addition, the rear doors now open wider than before, while the cab will still have rear-hinged suicide doors.
The three new engines with six-speed transmissions are a 4.3-liter V-6, as well as a 5.3-liter and 6.3-liter V-8 version. Both GMC and Chevrolet expect the 5.3-liter to be the best selling powerplant option.
