Chevrolet and GMC introduced the 2014 Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra at a pre-show media event in December but the pair of pickup trucks actually made their public auto show debut in at the North American International Auto Show. 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Both trucks now have a lighter, stiffer frame and cab along with wireless connectivity, three new engines, including two eight-cylinder engines and one six-cylinder engine. It also has a revamped interior and video screens.

The new trucks are the same size as the previous generation and will have 2 more inches of rear legroom without any decrease in front leg room.  In addition, the rear doors now open wider than before, while the cab will still have rear-hinged suicide doors.

The three new engines with six-speed transmissions are a 4.3-liter V-6, as well as a 5.3-liter and 6.3-liter V-8 version. Both GMC and Chevrolet expect the 5.3-liter to be the best selling powerplant option.
